Canon IXUS 130 in Pink w/ Case & 4GB Memory Card at JESSOPS £119.

Today I bought myself a brand new camera. Yay! I can start blogging with photos again.

Super amazing offer currently at Jessops on the Canon IXUS 130 Digital Camera in Pink, comes along with a free case and a memory card for just £119. BARGAIN!

Canon cameras are the elite, the best of the best. Canon is definitely the king of cameras, they’re reliable and long lasting. Taking fine quality pictures with easy to use functions and a good range of settings. I particularly like the IXUS as there is a lot of background colour options so you can get arty style photos.

Canon cameras (especially the IXUS range) are very hard to come by at such a great price. They’re usually around £200.  This is a great offer and guys… this is a perfect Valentines gift too. It’s PINK!

wk3 NY: in pretty pictures

The Hudson Hotel in Park Avenue.

This hotel has a beautiful garden like decor, dark bark wooden floors and walls with dim lighting and candles scattered around the hallways. The Sky Terrace on the 15th floor is accessde by walking through the corridor of the hotel suites and towards the fire exit which opens to a beuaitful terraced rooftop. Deck and Lounge chairs, hammocks with cushions and potted trees and plants everywhere. A wonderful place to chill in the summer with drinks and a group of friends. Plus, a beuaitful of the city and the river in in the distance.

The view from the Mandarin Hotel Bar, looking down at Columbus Circle.

A really cool mexican restaurant in Steinway St, Astoria. This restaurant was really fun and lively, with live singing. The restaurant is decorated immensely with acoustic guitars, ornaments sombreros, hats on the walls. Really gives the vibe of Mexico. Food was great.

Aaahh, Dim Sum, my favourite food in the world! The dim sum restaurants are in NY chinatown massive and just like Hong Kong they push the carts of dim sum around the tables. The dim sum here is perfect, and tastes the way it is meant to, and is so cheap. Feels liks home. UK really needs to fix up.

Unbelievable!

I am loving New York more and more, I think I could seriously adjust to the life here.

NY wk2: NY by night, rooftop terraces, the malls, markets, Little Italy and all around NY.

 Ink 48 rooftop hotel bar.

This Hotel is a verymodern, very cool hotel with an amazing rooftop bar. A 360 degree view of Manhattan which is breathtaking. Standing there casting my eyes over Manhattan  I had a moment where I said to myself. I am really in New York.

Its wonderful how a beautiful view or anything that captivates your eyes can make you pause, and think and conjure emotions or feelings, I literally felt butterflies in my stomach as I panned my eyes across the skyline.

This bar has a beautiful decor, trendy, cool but not too much, its quite simplistic, garden like straw /bamboo loungey deck chairs and sofas with white tables surround this square illuminated water structure.

The view of The Empire State Building from the rooftop terrace at The Strand Hotel.

Sat night – moon, breeze, night clouds: perfect. <3

Hudson Terrace Club. Huge club on a roof terrace, great music.

Little Italy. I stumbled across the San Gennaro feast in Little Italy. Food galore.

Tones of vendors all along the Little Italy strip, so packed and everything smelt delicious.

Deep Fried Oreos… I really am in America!

Flatiron building – such a cool building in the middle of the city.

Just some random snaps that I think give me the feel of NY.

hello there….

Chinatown – kitchen staff eating. I think this shot really captures the culture and feel of chinatown. This is a ‘visual’ I have seen  in London, Hong Kong and here.

black-white boho

I make a great tourist. Starbucks in hand…

Cute hoody -  am I a true american girl yet?

Ready for another week…

Diane at VFNO

“You always have to eat humble pie at some point… Every rejection is the fuel for what you will be.”

- Diane Von Furstenberg

I feel so grateful and honoured to be at DVF New York, there is an aura in this building. It motivates you to work hard and strive to do your best, you get an energy from this environment, I think because Diane’s empire is built so much on empowering women and it definitel resonates throughout the building, the workforce, the atmosphere.

I do not want my New York minute to end!

DVF and the super stunning model and current face of DVF’s campaigns, Elisa Sednaoui.

Life of a Fashion intern – 1st Week of NY Fashion Week: DVF, VFNO and the WWD’s

Just my first week in notes

DVF – Vogue Fashion Night Out was a succcess, was helping run the event, a huge turn out and a lively buzzing atmosphere at the event. Diane was there mingling with the crowd, taking photos and being interviewed. She is so sensational and fabulous. The night was a sucess, a great crowd and Anna Wntour and Nicole Ritchie showed up too. The Meatpacking district was filled with fashonistas and the glamourazzi galore, lots going on in all the stores and a big buzz around the event.

The fabulous Diane.. still looking stunning

The amazing DVF building in Meatpacking district

After work, had a browse of all the other participating stores nearby, Alexander McQueen was buzzing. At Moschino you could get your photo taken, champagne and canapes all around, all filled with guests. The Meatpacking district was a fashion frenzy, I had never seen so many beautiful and trendy people in one place. We then headed to the Greenhouse club in Soho. Was a nice club but was quite amazed to see that hip hop is still really big out here.

Some phrase I heard today  “I’m situationin’ it up man” LOL – this made me laugh!

New York is amazing, I can understand why americans never feel the need to leave the US. As EVERYTHING is available here, absolutely everything. Even in the grocery stores, I was standing for hours in the yoghurt section trying to choose which one, which flavour. Americans are spoilt for choice.

I love how New Yorkers say what they are thinking, they are outspoken and expressive. People in London are so reserved and don’t express themselves fully, even if they really want to inside.

Shopping is cheap, getting around the city is easy with such an effiicient subway system, entertainment is good and average working hours are set. Life seems so much easier here. Compared to London where you can barely make a living. My NY adventure has begun and I am so grateful to be here in New York City, especially interning for such an amazing brand.

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there’s nothing you can’t do….. Now I’M in New Yooooork!

Greenhouse Club, Soho

Delivering fashion show invites to the V.I.P’s - was so great to be chauffered around New York city. Although by the time I got to Brooklyn deliveries I was climbing 5 to 10 flights of stairs as older Brooklyn flats have NO LIFTS. Loved every second though.

Got to love Forever 21 – wush we had a store in London!

I am sold NY – I love you already

perfect home cooked italian dinner with the girls..

Parma ham and cantalope melon
Mozzarella, olive and tomato and basil spaghetti
Lots and lots of wine
Melted fromage with bread
Delicious ‘gelati’ (of course) with fresh strawberries and blueberries…
The best home cooked italian I’ve had!
All thanks to the amazing chef Maria T
(And music, an amazing ‘session’ by garageband DJ Georgina C – haha!

A day in the life of a fashion intern 14.07.10 ❤

One of the best things about my internship is that I have met some of the coolest people in London, like Cristina and Alexandra here – fashionable and glamourous career driven ladies who work hard, that is the kind of people and mindset I wish to be around.

Christina, waving her Mexican money at me… what are you trying to suggest?!

And this is the über cool, über colourful Michael, (who after strong persuasion finally ‘authorized’ this photo to be shown, I hope your agent and personal photographer does not mind right?!) As for fashion I swear Micheal has the biggest selection of stripey shirts I have seen on this planet but this one tops them all.. Red… Blue… White AND Yellow… in one shirt?! Love it!

Outfit today – Bit of a grim day so the Summer colours have gone, back to the sleek black and white attire.

White Tank: Degrees of Freedom

Waistcoat: Mango

Black Cigarette Pants: Elizabeth & James (Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s brand of which have some amazingly tailored and well fitted slim leg trousers. An ultra-cool and hip brand I have fallen in love with, good tailoring with an edgy rocky style, very much echoes the style of the Olsen twins themselves.

Suede Leather Bag: Zara

Brown Belt: Arrogant Cat

Necklace: River Island (If you are looking for fast buy rock chic style accessories head to RIVER ISLAND – I find that is one of their strong points, their accessories. Also ALDO never disappoints.

My Red Velvet obsession: The Red Velvet cupcake from Lola’s that gets me through the day. Have you tried this? It is AMAZING! Go to the Harrod’s concession which is bigger. Lola’s is dessert and confectionary with personality, which is definitely one of the reasons why they’re doing so well.. Girly and delicious, what would a day working in fasion PR be without pretty desserts?

Update: Week 05/07/10

Look! Look at this!! Yes, amazing sunny weather all week!

Had an exciting week at DVF – looking after the Marketing dept as the boss is away, good experience, lots more work but I’m getting a taster of being a marketing coordinator. Something I definitely would consider aside from Fashion PR.

Weekend was major – party and party and par and par and par with the girls. Maddox – me and my gorgeous Spanish friend, Georgina.

And World Cup.. So it has gone to Spain – I wanted Holland to win as they had worked so hard, but I guess I cannot betray my husband Cesc Fabregas right! :D

A spot of Sunday shopping with my girly hannah.

Posers…

A cute cardigan from H&M – of course trust hannah to wear it as a dress because it is short enough..

My colours this week, taupe and beige.

BTW: The ASOS Sale has Started! I don’t even know where to begin as there is too much… but check it out – they have some fab dresses as always.

06.07.10 ❤ Orange fever and Sepia tone messyness

Ahhh… wasn’t feeling so happy and chirpy as my usual self today. I think it is the 7 day a week robot I have turned into. So decided to get some retail therapy and head to Harrods… always does the trick. Though, the damage was not as severe as I had feared. I bought one thing, a very cute Ted Baker wallet for £25.00 in an Orange / Tan / Metallic silver leather. I had not been to Harrods in almost 6 months and I’d forgotten how much I love it, you are completely spoilt for choice there. Not to mention the sale going on there at the moment is superb, very good perfumery and cologne sale.

Me posing + wallet. Yes it was about time for the posing photos to return, they had disappeared from this blog for a while… Messing around with photoshop.

I am such a catalogue model here – LOL!

Finding myself really into orange at the moment, hence the orange wallet. Orange is my colour for this summer. Its even found its way onto my lips… Check out my ORANGE lipstick from Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in No. 66 - What do you think? I think its the shizzzzz…. Its a very shiny coral colour, which looks super hot with a bronzed, sunkissed faced (lots of bronzer) golden and metallic brown eyes and jet black mascara. Coral is a difficult colour to wear on the lips, you have to make sure you have a tanned face or plenty of bronzer to blend with the golden tones in orange.

More messing around… I’ve had a bad day so…

Make up is: Fresh faced, lots of bronzer, a natural peach colour  blusher, avoid pink as it may clash with orange, quite badly. Keep face make up sunkissed looking with glow lotion and highlighter/enhancers. Highly recommend NARS ‘The Multiple’ enhancer stick in Copacabana

The Lancome L’Absolu lipstick range has superb selection of bright colours. The texture is wet and soft, I find it does not dry my lips like most others. Very good quality lipstick. £18.00 in stores.

A gorgeous Cynthia Steffe Polomer dress I tried today and fell in love – stunning elaborate green and yellow splash of colour on a very thin y silk dress with a ruffled waist that drapes to the side. This dress looks HOT. Cynthia Steffe dresses are one to watch at the moment, very sexy, fun, colourful and tight dresses…. (ticks all the boxes!) This print reminds me of Cavalli, Pucci or Dolce & Gabanna. I definitely have a weakness for elaborate ‘out there’ prints.

Still to come…

My DVF Wardrobe and lots of new beauty product raves.
